The only way to change your Spotify profile picture is through the desktop app. In the Spotify desktop app, you'll have to click on your profile name and then hover over the circular picture to. If your account is connected to Facebook, your default photo is your Facebook profile picture. You can follow the steps above to change it. To remove it, you can disconnect from Facebook: In the top-right corner of the desktop app, click, then Settings. Under Social, click DISCONNECT FROM FACEBOOK. The changes will reflect on your account soon.

A profile picture is one of several ways to be found on social media nowadays. But beyond social networks you can also use a profile picture on other services, such as Spotify, the most used music streaming service in the world.
In this quick tutorial we will teach you how to set a profile picture (or avatar) in your Spotify profile to make the app with your own personality and for that your friends can find you more easily.
It is worth remembering that the process to change the profile picture of Spotify can only be accomplished through the application of Spotify for computers. Unfortunately this option is not yet available for smartphones like Android, iPhone and others.

If your Spotify account is connected to your Facebook account the music streaming service will use it as default, so if you prefer you can change your Facebook profile photo, so your avatar in Spotify will also change.

Setting up a profile picture in Spotify for computer
- First open the Spotify for Windows app on your computer.
- Click on your name located at the top right of the screen to go to your Spotify profile page.
- Now hover on your currently profile picture and click the “Change” button.
- A window for choosing a file has been opened. Look for the profile photo you want to use and click “Open” to change your Spotify profile picture.
Removing your Spotify profile picture

- On your Spotify profile page, hover over your current profile photo and click “Change”.
- Click “Remove” and your Spotify profile photo will be deleted.

You can't upload any images that violate any copyright, trademark, or personal image rights, which are as follows:
- Copyright - In most countries and regions, copyright laws exist to protect people's original works and creations (book, music, art etc.). Copyright generally does not protect ideas or facts, but in some cases it protects original words or images used to express an idea. - Trademark - Trademark is a word, slogan, symbol, or design (logo, brand/company name) that distinguishes the products/services offered by one entity from those of another. Generally, the purpose of trademark laws are to prevent consumer confusion about the source of the party providing service.
- Personal Image - Personality rights, or right of publicity, protect an individual from unauthorised public or commercial use of their name, image, personality, or likeness. Basically, do not post an image of an individual without their consent.
Offensive, Violent, or Inappropriate Content
Below are some guidelines for types of offensive or violent content we will not tolerate. Please note however, since we have a large community with members from many countries, cultures, and background, something you might find disagreeable may not violate our Guidelines.
How To Add Profile Picture On Spotify
- Nudity, pornography, and other sexually explicit content is not allowed on Spotify. If you are questioning the appropriateness of a photo, chances are it violates our Profile and Playlist Image Guidelines.
- Hate group speech, imagery, symbols, or references of any kind are strictly prohibited on Spotify and will be removed immediately.
- Child pornography - Spotify has a zero-tolerance policy involving sexual content of minors. Posting, sharing, or downloading images of this nature is prohibited by the law and will be reported to law enforcement and your account will be suspended. If you come across such an image, please report it immediately.
- Bullying and harassment - Intent to bully or harass an individual or group is not permitted on the service. Such content will be removed from the service.
- Overly violent content - While we want to promote your ability to express yourself on Spotify, we also do not allow overly offensive or violent content on Spotify. So when you are about to post content, it might be helpful to ask yourself: would most of my family and friends have a really negative reaction to what I’m about to post? If yes, it will probably violate our Profile and Playlist Image Guidelines.
